今天早上开始，很多使用第三方Twitter终端的用户，包括TwitterFox、Twhirl以及Twittai都开始抱怨无法很顺畅的使用这些第三方服务。
原来并不是这些服务集体出了问题，而是Twitter API对于使用者请求的频率进行了设置，第三方服务无法频繁的向Twitter请求数据。而向Twitter发送信息的应用，如TwitterFeed还没发现什么问题。
看来，Twitter也承受不起太多的用户无止境的通过API来发送请求。2周前，刚刚有过对Twitter商业模式的讨论，其实其中很多Twitter都有可能已经在尝试，包括之前在Gtalk中的Twitter Tips，应该也是对广告的一种试水。
Twitter是时候要考虑找一个免费和商业的平衡点，才能更长远而健康的发展下去了。

是呀! 原來是 MacWorld 影響到的!

MacWorld Pain
We seem to be up at the moment, but we had a flood of traffic around
the MacWorld Keynote this morning. No surprise, of course, but since
we couldn't move data centers earlier this month we don't have many
machines to throw at the increased load.
In the meantime, I've drastically increased the API rate limit and
disallowed unauthenticated requests to the API. This is temporary,
and once our load decreases later today things will be back to where
they used to be.

来自twitter官方blog的消息说是史蒂夫演讲时大量涌入的tweets导致。
